Eat EGGS! Today's Breakfast!

Oh wait! I mean, eat more egg whites! Egg whites are the most natural and purest form of protein that we can get! Having them for breakfast is great because protein will keep you satiated and prevent late morning cravings for processed carbs, you know all that sugar junk! All you have to do is walk into a Starbucks, and there it is all in your face... the muffins, donuts, croissants, bagels, etc., ( really try not to get too excited about this!). Sure there was a time when I too would indulge a bit too frequently on these types of foods, but honestly now I have no desire whatsoever.

So trust me try this breakfast at least three times a week! You'll feel so good, you'll feel light, and proud of yourself for eating something that's healthy and good for you! You're body will begin to respond by reshaping itself little by little, just be patient!

The low down on the egg whites....
Approximately 17 calories per egg white, 3.6 grams of pure protein per egg white and zero fat!

The upside of the egg yolk....
Approximately 54 calories per egg yolk, good sources of Vitamin D and Vitamin A, Omega 3's and Omega 6's ( healthy fats).

The downside of the egg yolk...
One yolk contains 210 mg of cholesterol! One yolk has 1.6 grams of saturated fat.... So imagine those 4 egg omelets at Denny's or Ihop...210 x 4 = 840 mg of cholesterol!!! 1.6 x 4 = 6.4 grams of saturated fat and that's without the added cheese!! Blegh!!

PROTEIN MYTH ~ Many athletes and fitness enthusiasts believe that consuming more protein will stimulate more muscle growth and size. This is not true, sorry... consuming an excessive amount of protein will be stored in the body as fat, only hard work/training will help to build more muscle size and strength.

Egg White Scramble

Use one whole egg and three egg whites and whisk together with some ground pepper, a dash a red pepper spice and herbs de provence (or use whatever spices you'd like, except NO salt!)

Next add veggies, whatever you want and as much as you want! Unfortunately, all I had in the fridge was red peppers and onions since I haven't had a chance to go grocery shopping yet!

Now pour it into a hot skillet with 2 Tbl of olive oil, until cooked through, then top it off with the salsa of your choice! Delicious and perfectly content! :)

So enjoy and be sure you have a great big glass of water with this too! Aye caliente! ;D
